IMMERSE aims to make immersive technologies a natural part of everyday education. We bring together researchers, educators, creatives and other experts to develop new XR and AI applications that explore the potential of immersive technologies for teaching and learning. We also offer consulting and access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, supporting partners in turning ideas into practical solutions.
We envision a future where educators across disciplines can easily integrate immersive experiences into their teaching, creating more engaging and impactful ways to learn, experience and exchange knowledge.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration for a Broader Impact
At the core of IMMERSE stands a nexus of three leading Zurich institutions: the University of Zurich, PHZH, and ZHAW. Surrounding this foundation is a dynamic network of academic partners spanning over 30 disciplines.
Our four immersive infrastructures, the IMMERSE lab & theatre, the Careum Auditorium, and the Surgical Training Centre OR-X provide state-of-the-art spaces for experimentation, prototyping, teaching, and knowledge transfer. Together, they enable the development of cutting-edge immersive learning experiences across a wide range of fields.
Designed to bridge theory and practice, these infrastructures allow researchers, educators, and students to explore new forms of interaction, simulation, and data-driven learning in realistic and scalable environments.
